Goal:
- cohesive storyline
- tight character interaction (—> avoiding "one-upmanship")
Means:
- structured environment: world building/ NPC development before the start of the game; lay out guidelines & respect basic planning when posting. —> 'Conspiracy' plot as basic reason to interact. Each character will know at least one other person from the beginning.
- commitment. minimum requirement: one post a week for each character. Post length? Posting limitations/ maximum number of posts per week?
- time out etc. should be announced and incorporated into the game world.
- Verena: "think about not only the people immediately involved, but also their families, their further motivations and aims. These other people and motivations would not come into the game immediately, but would serve as a backup plan once the "first round" is played."
Methods:
- do we need a kind of 'game master'? e.g. Kym "playing someone at the head of the conspiracy would probably be quite helpful. I mean, we can't all be playing people who are just incidentally involved. Of course, this situation would mean you'd probably have to make occasional decisions about the course of the story."
Member Wishes:
- regular feedback on posts & characters
- posting must not become a 'chore' — negotiating posting conditions must stay an option
- be clear about our expecations from the game/the team members and openly discuss those to avoid clashes of interests.
- maturity of game world, e.g. trying to avoid obvious clichés like pesudo-christian religions
- No elves. No hobbits. ;P
